Description
Join City Historian Mary Ann Fitzgerald as she explores the fascinating life and career of Chauncey Olcott, the renowned American stage actor, songwriter, and singer who once called Clinton Street home. Chauncey and his wife, Rita, were deeply involved in the Saratoga Springs community and embraced all the city had to offer.
Mary Ann will trace Olcott’s journey as he wrote and performed in musical productions across the country, many of which graced the stage of Saratoga’s Town Hall Theatre—now the Anthony “Skip” Scirocco Music Hall on the third floor of City Hall.
Born and raised in Saratoga, Mary Ann graduated from and worked at Skidmore College before joining the Saratoga Springs History Museum, where she managed the George S. Bolster Collection from 2001 until her appointment as City Historian in 2004.
